NEB
A detailed Guide on how to register with the NEB
NEB registration guide
- Before you read a word or spend a single dollar on this, you need to first make sure that your school is listed in the AVMA ECFVG-listed schools, because if it it not, too bad you can not register. you can find the list here.
- If your school is not listed you can actually list it but you will have to go through a process, you can check details on how to do that here.
- Below is a step by step practical guide of how you will register.
Here is a list of the documents that you will need to prepare:
- Create your account on NEB candidate portal here, you will then have a candidate ID. Always include your full name and NEB ID number in any correspondence with NEB. Your NEB ID will be provided in your Portal account.
- Valid, unexpired passport (ID pages only) or Birth certificate.
- University transcript listing all courses in your degree program with corresponding grades. Your transcripts must be sent to NEB directly from your university by an official institutional email address to neb-bne@cvma-acmv.org (in this case NEB will not need to verify your transcript) or you send it your self by physical mail to this address:
- CVMA-NEB, 339 Booth Street, Ottawa ON, K1R 7K1 (in this case you will have to wait until the NEB verifies you transcript with your school, you will also have to notarize if you are sending a copy)
- University Degree, If your transcript, or letter attached to your transcript, clearly states that your degree has been conferred, you DO NOT need to submit the degree certificate. same rules apply her as with the transcript, you can either get it sent by your school or send it physically yourself. Acceptable documents for degree certificate include: Diploma, Provisional Degree Certificate, Graduate Verification / Certification or Academic Statement. This is one of the things that is different from the ECFVG that only accepts the diploma (the one you hang on the wall)
- language proficiency requirements, this is actually one of the nice things about the NEB, if you can provide documentation proving that you entire language of study was in English or French, you do not need a language exam, you will need to send documentation to prove that
- The documentation provided must clearly indicate that the full program of study was taught entirely in English or French.
- Documentation must be a letter on official university letterhead, and should include the following detail:
- Include the name of the NEB candidate and, if applicable, their NEB ID number.
- State that the professional degree in veterinary medicine is taught entirely in English or French.
- That the candidate was enrolled in the veterinary medicine program for the entirety of their professional degree and clearly state the years of enrollment, i.e., the candidate’s program start date to the date of graduation/completion.
- Final year students: This letter should indicate your anticipated graduation date instead of the date of graduation/completion.
- Include the name, signature, and contact information of the university official
- Documentation must be provided directly either by email OR physical mail. If by email, it must come from the educational institution through an official university email domain. If sent by physical mail/courier, it must come in a sealed envelope directly from the educational institution to NEB.
- By email: neb-bne@cvma-acmv.org
- By physical mail/courier: 339 Booth Street, Ottawa ON K1R7K1 Canada
- If your language of study was not entirely English or French then you will have to take a language test, unlike the ECFVG, you can not complete registration without completing language requirements first, below is a schedule of accepted exam and minmum scores required
